Attingham park features an 18th century mansion that is surrounded by acres of land. This mansion belonged to the Lords Berwick family who had being a successful family making their money through politics, mining and money lending. The land surrounding the mansion was over 8000 acres telling of how strong and wealthy this family had become over the centuries. There came a time however when the family was to fall, seeing the sale of 4000 acres of their land which comprises the Attingham park. Maybe this was because those last lords of Berwick lived up to their family motto which is “let wealth be his who knows its use. The park is one of the most popular in Shrewsbury, particually through the summer months.

There are Fallow dears that roam the park all the year round. There is also pond dipping and bug hunting to ensure that the activities last the entire year regardless of the season. Recently, the pleasure grounds in the park are being restored to give glory back to the entire park and also to take the visitors to another world altogether.

At the park you can take the trailer or tractor deer park safari. There are also games and sports which you can enjoy at the field of play in the park as a group. The field of play is always being redesigned and expanded to include new games and give the visitors a different and fresh experience every other time. The field now has a new guilloche pattern that you can explore and enjoy when you visit Attingham Park. The park is an ideal location for families and groups that need to bond and spend some quality time together. It is also ideal for schools trips and romantic getaways. You will always have something to enjoy in this park regardless of the season of year.
